Both www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com have dropped the price of Thomas the Poisoner Tales from the Reading Dragon Inn from my publisher suggested cover price of $10.99 down to $9.89. That’s a savings of $1.10 or 10%. This is a good deal on a book that I produced to already be a bargain at 406 pages in length in a 8.5″ by 5.5″ trade paperback format. I know in my comparison pricing for similar titles that books only 200 pages in length in that format were typically selling for $16.00 to $18.00.
However, I myself am a lifetime reader. I wanted to give you the customer a good price on a good read. The same thing which I’m looking for when I buy a book. Do I make a lot of money on this deal? No. Yet I’m happier having you the public enjoying this book than making a fortune for myself. It may not be smart marketing, or good business, but it will hopefully bring in some grateful return customers.
